WASHINGTON (AA) - Former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, both Republican presidential candidates, have more support than President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential race, according to a new poll released Thursday.
The poll conducted by Marquette University Law School showed that 52% of respondents expressed their preference for Trump, while 47% showed support for Biden. Additionally, the poll revealed that DeSantis, the Florida Republican, received more support with 52% compared to Biden's 48%.
According to the survey, when voters were presented with the options of choosing Biden, Trump, someone else, or not voting, 34% of respondents favored Biden, 41% expressed support for Trump, 19% preferred someone else, and 7% stated they would not vote.
The survey was conducted from May 8 to May 18, interviewing 1,010 adults nationwide. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.7 percentage points.
