MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (AA) - The four-day Republican National Convention is underway in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Admittance on the third day of the convention started early Wednesday, where intense security measures were taken.
While helicopters hovered over the site, mounted police attracted the attention of Republicans attending the event.
The first two days of the convention were focused on economic issues and issues surrounding crime and immigration, while Wednesday’s main focus will be foreign policy.
According to the Republican Party, the theme for the third day will be “Make America Strong Once Again."
Today will also feature a significant address from Ohio Senator J.D. Vance, who has been chosen by Donald Trump as his vice-presidential running mate.
However, the convention's spotlight remains on Trump, who is scheduled to address the attendees on Thursday.
Saturday's shooting at a Trump campaign rally in Pennsylvania wounded the former president, killed one spectator and critically wounded two others. Trump was seen being whisked off the stage by Secret Service agents, his face bloodied after it appeared that he was grazed by a bullet.
He later said he was shot in the right ear and appeared at the first day of the convention with a bandage covering it.
The Secret Service is tasked with ensuring the security of presidents and vice presidents, both former and current, as well as presidential nominees during election years.
