ISTANBUL (AA) - A Turkish physician said rhinoplasty needs to be planned individually as every face, skin, and nose has different dynamics.
"Rhinoplasty needs to be planned individually. Every face, every skin, and every nose has different dynamics. Therefore, different results will be obtained from different noses," said Dr. Erkan Soylu, an ear, nose, and throat specialist at Istanbul's Medipol Mega University hospital.
It is not correct for patients to compare their noses with each other, Soylu said, adding that a comparison could be made before and after the surgery.
Underlining that the aim of rhinoplasty is not to make the same nose for everyone, Soylu said the "beautiful and successful nose" could be different from each other.
Rhinoplasty is carried out to breathe more comfortably and to get a better appearance, he said.
"If the nose has a better appearance and breathes more easily after the surgery, it can be said that the surgery has been successful," he added.
Procedures such as a long nose for a round face, a short and very upturned nose for a long face, a small nose for a large face, a large nose for a small face will not be appropriate, he said.
