ANKARA (AA ) - Shaqueel van Persie, son of former Dutch player Robin Van Persie, has inked his first professional contract with Feyenoord at the age of 15.
The Dutch winger signed the deal on Monday that will keep him in the Rotterdam club until 2025.
Shaqueel said he has been playing at the club since he was 10 years old, and this day was special for him.
"Feyenoord feels like a second home to me. The supporters, the stadium, everything here is just beautiful," he said.
Like his son, Van Persie started his career at Feyenoord in 2001, and scored 46 goals in 121 appearances including his second stint during the 2018-2019 season.
He also played for Turkiye's Fenerbahce and English Premier League heavyweights Arsenal and Manchester United.
