ANKARA (AA) — Evan Ndicka, Ivorian center-back for Italian Serie A club Roma, was discharged from the hospital, the Italian club announced Monday.
"First and second-level cardiological tests were administered that were negative for cardiac pathologies," the club said in a statement, adding that the test results indicated Ndicka suffered a chest injury with a small amount of air trapped in the left side of his chest.
The statement also said Ndicka had been discharged and would "undergo additional tests in Rome."
Sunday's Serie A clash between Udinese and Roma was suspended after Ndicka collapsed on the pitch after experiencing chest pains.
The 24-year-old had to be taken off on a stretcher and was taken to the hospital for checks.
Ndicka joined Roma on a free transfer in July 2023 after spending five years with German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.
He helped Eintracht Frankfurt win an UEFA Europa League title in 2022 and sealed the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast in February this year.
