ANKARA (AA) - The Romanian defense minister said Monday that he resigned from his post over the “impossibility of working with the president.”
“This morning, I submitted my resignation as Minister of #NationalDefence to the Prime Minister of Romania, Nicolae Ciuca,” said Vasile Dincu on Twitter, adding: “The reason for my decision is the impossibility of working with the President of Romania, the Commander-in-Chief of the Romanian Army (Klaus Iohannis).”
He said his decision was necessary “in order not to prejudice in any way the decision-making processes and programmes that require fluidity throughout the chain of command and not to block a series of projects that are absolutely necessary for the optimal functioning of the Romanian Defense Ministry.”
Dincu also thanked Prime Minister Ciuca and offered his full support as a member of the parliament.
