ISTANBUL (AA) - Serie A champions Napoli named Rudi Garcia as their new coach, the Italian club confirmed on Thursday.
"I am pleased to announce that, having met him frequently over the last 10 days, Mr. Rudi Garcia will be the new coach of Napoli. To him the most sincere welcome and a big good luck!" Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis tweeted.
The Blues did not specify the length of Garcia's deal.
The 59-year-old Frenchman replaced Luciano Spalletti, who had held the managerial role since 2021.
Under the helm of Spalletti, Napoli spent a magic season to be crowned the Italian champions for the first time since 1990.
The team claimed its first Serie A title since Argentine legend Diego Maradona played for the club from 1984-1990.
Garcia previously coached Olympique Lyon, Marseille, Roma and Lille and Al-Nassr.
He left Al-Nassr after finishing second in the Saudi Pro League standings last season.
