ISTANBUL (AA) - Russia claimed on Sunday that it took control of two more settlements in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region.
A statement by the Russian Defense Ministry said that its forces captured the villages of Prohres and Yevhenivka.
Both settlements are about 4.6 kilometers (2.8 miles) apart.
A day earlier, Russia also said it captured the nearby village of Lozuvatske, located about 4 kilometers (2.4 miles) north of Prohres.
Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on Russia’s claims, and independent verification of Moscow’s claims is difficult due to the ongoing war.
