ISTANBUL (AA) - Russia claimed Tuesday that its forces took control of another settlement in Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv region, where Moscow continues an offensive in the eastern part of the war-torn country.
The Russian Defense Ministry said forces captured the village of Kopanky, about 41 kilometers (25.4 miles) southeast of Kupiansk, a major front in Moscow's offensive in Kharkiv.
The village is also about 42 kilometers (north of Lyman.
Ukrainian authorities have not commented on the claim, and independent verification is difficult due to the war.
