MOSCOW (AA) - Russia announced on Tuesday that its forces have taken control of four settlements in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region.
A statement by the Russian Defense Ministry said Vodyane, Halytsynivka, Krasnohorivka, and Hryhorivka settlements in the Donetsk region went under Russia's control.
“As a result of coordinated actions by the Vostok group of forces, the settlement of Vodyane in the Donetsk People’s Republic has been liberated. ... The settlement of Halytsynivka was liberated by active operations carried out by units from the Center group of forces. ... Decisive actions by the Southern group of forces have also led to the liberation of Krasnohorivka and Hryhorivka in the Donetsk People’s Republic,” the ministry said.
Meanwhile, the situation in the Kursk region remains at a stalemate, with fighting ongoing along the entire front line.
In the Glushkovsky district, specifically in the Karyzh area, Ukrainian forces have destroyed a bridge over the Seim River, which became unusable. Additionally, ferry crossings in the area are under attack. Ukraine's troops aim to disrupt the supply lines for Russian troops and hinder the evacuation of local residents.
Ukrainian officials have yet to respond to Russia's claim, and independent confirmation of the development remains difficult due to the ongoing conflict.
Russia has frequently reported gains in recent months as it continues its offensive in Donetsk, with the area around Pokrovsk seeing heightened activity. However, the broader situation in the region remains fluid, with intense fighting on multiple fronts.
