ISTANBUL (AA) - Russia claimed on Tuesday that its forces gained “more advantageous positions” in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region.
“In the Kupiansk direction, the assault detachments of the Western group of troops, during offensive operations on a wide front, took more advantageous positions near the village of Vilshany, Kharkiv region,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement on Telegram.
It further said that airstrikes and artillery fire near the settlements of Dvorichna, Petropavlivka, Krokhmalne, and Kupiansk “inflicted a defeat on concentrations of enemy manpower and equipment.”
Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on the claims, and independent verification of Russia’s claims is difficult due to the ongoing war.
