ISTANBUL (AA) - Russia said on Monday that at least two people were injured due to an overnight Ukrainian drone attack in the country’s border region of Voronezh.
Voronezh Governor Aleksandr Gusev said in a statement on Telegram that two enterprises located in the region’s Anninsky and Novokhopyorsky districts were targeted in the overnight attack.
“In the Anninsky district, two employees of the enterprise were injured,” Gusev said, expressing a fire that occurred at the site was extinguished around 2 a.m. local time (2300GMT).
Gusev further said the fire damaged several buildings, structures, and equipment at the site, while outside the enterprise, a residential building and a section of a power line were damaged.
At the second enterprise in the Novokhopyorsky district, the roof of one outbuilding and a tank were damaged after a drone fell, Gusev also said, adding that there was no fire.
Separately, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that it downed 21 Ukrainian drones in the country overnight, one of which was shot down over the Voronezh region.
Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on the claim.
