Russia says it struck Ukraine’s defense industry facilities

Facilities producing shells, gunpowder, and drones hit with ‘high-precision long-range sea- and air-based weapons,’ says Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW (AA) - The Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday that it carried out a “group strike” on Ukrainian defense industry facilities.

In a statement, the ministry said that the strike was conducted using “high-precision long-range sea- and air-based weapons, including Kinzhal (Dagger) hypersonic air-launched ballistic missiles, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles” at the facilities producing shells, gunpowder, and drones.

“The goal of the strike has been achieved,” the statement added.

Ukraine is yet to comment on the claim, independent verification is not possible due to the ongoing war.

Russia launched its "special military operation" in Ukraine in February 2022.
