MOSCOW (AA) - Russia on Wednesday reported an attempt by Ukrainian troops to enter its Bryansk region.
A sabotage group attempted to cross the border into Klimovsky district, Bryansk Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz said in a statement on Telegram.
“On Aug. 21 in Klimovsky district of Bryansk region, an attempt by a Ukrainian sabotage group to penetrate the Russian territory was foiled,” he said.
According to Bogomaz, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), acting jointly with the armed forces, pushed the Ukrainian military back.
“The situation at the place of the clash has stabilized and is under the control of the regional operative task force,” he added.
Ukraine has yet to comment on Russia's claims and independent verification is impossible due to the ongoing war.
