Russia says Ukraine returned 106 servicemen in prisoner exchange

Aerospace Forces will transport released servicemen to Moscow for treatment, rehabilitation, says Defense Ministry

ISTANBUL (AA) - Moscow on Monday announced that Ukraine returned 106 servicemen to Russia in a prisoner exchange.

“On April 10, as a result of the negotiation process, 106 Russian servicemen were returned from the territory controlled by the Kyiv regime, who were in mortal danger in captivity,” read a statement by the Russian Defense Ministry.

It said airplanes belonging to the Russian Aerospace Forces will transport the released servicemen to Moscow for treatment and rehabilitation at medical institutions of the ministry.

“All those released are provided with the necessary medical and psychological assistance,” the statement further said.

Last Monday, five wounded Ukrainian soldiers were returned to Ukraine, Moscow's human rights commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova told Russian state news agency TASS.
