MOSCOW (AA) - Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu said on Friday that ammunition production ramped up over the past year.
Speaking at a meeting with the military chiefs in Moscow, Shoygu said the expansion and modernization of production facilities allowed to multiply ammunition and weapons production output.
"Equipment and weapons arrive in a timely manner in the zone of a special military operation, increasing the combat capabilities of the combined groups of troops," he said. Russia started its "special military operation" in Ukraine in February 2022.
The well-established system of operational repair and maintenance in the combat zone has significantly reduced the time for weapons and military equipment repair, the minister said. "The main task at the moment remains to provide each unit and each fighter with everything necessary for the successful completion of combat missions."
