ISTANBUL (AA) - At least six people were killed and 19 others injured overnight by Russian missile strikes in the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk and Odesa.
“In just one day, the Russians killed three residents of Donetsk region and wounded another six,” Donetsk Governor Pavlo Kyrylenko said in a statement on Telegram.
Kyrylenko said that the attacks took place in the cities of Kramatorsk and Kostyantynivka, destroying a total of seven houses and partially damaging at least 72.
Separately, missile strikes were also reported in the port city of Odesa, where Ukrainian authorities said three people were killed.
“Odesa. Residential buildings again. Again, the objects of civil infrastructure: a business center, an educational institution, shops, a church, a restaurant … three dead. 13 wounded,” Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said on Telegram.
Klymenko further said that victims of the attack are being provided with both medical and psychological assistance, adding that the search and rescue operation in the region has been completed.
The ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, which started in February 2022, has killed over 8,900 civilians and wounded more than 15,400, according to the latest UN figures.
