ISTANBUL (AA) - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday listed various instructions for the government to take measures in integrating drones into the country’s airspace.
“In order to ensure the safe operation of unmanned aerial systems, take comprehensive measures to integrate UAVs into the unified airspace of the Russian Federation, including considering the issue of digital transformation of air traffic management in terms of air traffic services systems, navigation, landing, surveillance, communications and countering the illegal use of unmanned aerial systems,” a statement by the Kremlin read.
Putin asked the authorities to take measures aiming to stimulate the use of domestic digital applications with regards to personnel training, domestic design, production, certification and operation of unmanned aerial systems and control over their use.
He also urged for measures to expand the use of digital data obtained using unmanned aerial systems in various sectors of the Russian economy.
Putin appointed Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin as responsible in overseeing the implementation of the measures.
