ANKARA (AA) - Australian Sam Welsford of Dutch Team DSM on Thursday bagged his maiden pro win in the Manisa-Ayvalik stage of the 57th Presidential Tour of Turkiye.
Welsford finished the 191.7-kilometer (119-mile) track in 4 hours 13 minutes 49 seconds.
Jasper Philipsen of Belgium's Alpecin-Fenix came in second, while Arvid de Kleijn of the US’ Human Powered Health finished third.
Argentina's Eduardo Sepulveda of Italy's Drone Hopper-Androni Giocattoli is still at the top of the general individual classification.
Sepulveda, the turquoise jersey winner, also retained the red jersey, while Belgian Jasper Philipsen did not lose the green jersey.
In the 6th stage of the 57th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey, which will be held in Edremit-Eceabat with the slogan "respect for history and nature" on Friday, the cyclists will travel between two continents – Asia and Europe – by passing through the newly opened 1915 Canakkale Bridge.
