ISTANBUL (AA) - More than 2,400 people were diagnosed Tuesday with the novel coronavirus in Saudi Arabia, according to the country's Health Ministry.
Officials said 2,476 more infections were registered in the last 24 hours and the total number of cases rose to 255,825.
The death toll from the virus reached 2,557, with 34 additional fatalities, while a total of 207,259 patients have recovered so far.
COVID-19 has claimed over 611,000 lives in 188 countries and regions since it originated in China last December.
Over 14.75 million COVID-19 cases have been reported globally, with recoveries exceeding 8.33 million, according to figures compiled by US-based Johns Hopkins University.
The US, Brazil, India, and Russia are currently the worst-hit countries.
