RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz on Wednesday met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who arrived in Riyadh a day earlier.
During the talks, Abbas reiterated Palestine’s support for Saudi Arabia in "countering terrorism" and hailed the Saudi support for the Palestinians, the official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.
The Saudi monarch, for his part, renewed the kingdom’s support for the Palestinian people and leadership “until regaining their legitimate rights to establishing an independent state on the 1967 border with Jerusalem as its capital”.
Accompanied by a host of officials, Abbas arrived in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday for an unspecified visit.
