RIYADH (AA) - Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz has issued a royal decree to pardon and release a number of Egyptian prisoners in the kingdom, according to the official SPA News Agency.
The pardon came as the Saudi monarch arrived in Egypt on Saturday to attend the first EU-Arab summit, to be held in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh on Sunday.
It remains unclear how many prisoners would be released.
There are no estimates of the total number of Egyptians held in Saudi prisons.
