RIYADH (AA) - Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz on Tuesday sworn in members of the country’s Shura Council, which advises the government on legislation.
The council, which comprises 150 members, was reshuffled by King Salman earlier this month.
Under a royal decree, half of the council’s members were replaced.
Addressing the council’s members, the Saudi monarch called for giving priority to serving “the interests of the homeland and citizens”, according to the official SPA news agency.
The council’s reshuffle was the first since King Salman came to the throne early last year.
