ISTANBUL (AA) - Scorpions, the world-famous rock band. performed Friday in KucukCiftlik Park in Istanbul as part of a tour organized for the 40th anniversary of the band’s "Love at First Sting" album.
Playing for fans in Instanbul after an eight-year absence, the band started the concert with the song. "Coming Home," -- thanks to organization by Epifoni, contributions from Yuzdeyuz Muzik and media sponsorship by STAR TV.
"We are very happy to be here with you in Istanbul after so many years. Tonight, we will celebrate the 40th anniversary of our legendary album Love at First Sting together," lead vocalist Klaus Meine told the crowd.
Meine said the band has played most of the songs from the album many times throughout their long career and performed beloved songs.
The audience joined in for the classic songs "Send me An Angel" and "Wind of Change."
Filling the venue, which holds 12,000 people, the audience gave enthusiastic applause as the Scorpions completed the concert with "Still Loving You" and "Rock You Like A Hurricane."
Due to high demand, the band announced a second concert in Istanbul and will perform again Saturday night.
