ANKARA (AA) - Jordan Jones and George Edmundson from the Scottish football team Rangers were suspended by that country’s sanctioning body for breaching a lockdown rule.
The pair were each handed a seven-match suspension for disobeying the isolation rule earlier this month, according to a statement on the Scottish Football Association’s website.
"Both players breached Covid regulations by attending a private gathering with others outside of their household," the Rangers said earlier this month.
Scottish media said the pair were at a Nov. 2 overnight house party in Glasgow when police rushed to the house to disperse participants.
The Rangers previously said Jones and Edmundson would be suspended and should "self-isolate for 14 days."
It said it would not tolerate behavior that risks the health of others and damages the team’s sanitary standards.
Jones and Edmundson will miss upcoming matches against Aberdeen, Falkirk, Ross County, Dundee United, Motherwell, St. Johnstone and Hibernian.
They will be available for a Dec. 30 match against St. Mirren.
