GENEVA (AA) - Police in Scotland have confirmed that they found 3D-printed firearms for the first time.

According to a BBC report, Police Scotland confirmed to police magazine 1919 that two incidents involving 3D guns occurred last year.

While one incident took place in the Argyll and West Dunbartonshire division in April, the other occurred in Tayside a month later.

Forensic services also expressed concern about the issue, telling police forces they were dealing with more complicated cases involving such firearms, the report said.

Police stated that they are managing the issue "effectively" and that they are in regular contact with organizations such as the National Crime Agency and the National Ballistics Intelligence Service, it said.

With no serial number information, 3D-printed guns are harder to trace.
