ISTANBUL (AA) – Renowned screenwriting instructor Robert McKee spoke at the 4th International Bosphorus Film Festival in Istanbul on Thursday.
McKee is running three days of seminars on the essentials of scriptwriting for TV series, thrillers and comedies.
On the first day of the seminar, McKee discussed the subject of the TV series and analyzed some scenarios from various broadcasts.
He said in coming years the cinema market would end given the development of technology.
On Friday, McKee will discuss "Action and Tension" and on the last day of the seminar series he will talk about "Comedy".
McKee is the author of the popular textbook Story: Substance, Structure, Style and the Principles of Screenwriting, which has been used to teach over 100,000 student screenwriters -- including 60 who went on to win Academy Awards.
More than 3,600 films from 122 different countries have been submitted to this year’s festival, which will run until Nov. 18.
Anadolu Agency is one of the main sponsors of the festival, which is organized by the Bogazici Cinema Association and the Istanbul Media Academy.
