ISTANBUL (AA) - Daily life was disrupted across South Korea on Friday due to the season’s “strongest” cold wave, according to the country's met officials.
The temperatures plummeted to as low as minus 20C (minus 4F) in northeastern Gangwon province as the severe winter with strong winds caused traffic and routine life disruptions across the country, the Seoul-based Yonhap News reported.
Snow blanketed southern island of Jeju as well as western coast.
The capital Seoul recorded minus 14.7C.
Meanwhile, a vehicle struck people near a bus station in Suwon, south of Seoul, killing at least one person and injuring 11 others.
