ANKARA (AA) - A world number one in men's tennis, Novak Djokovic qualified for the 2021 Australian Open semifinals, beating Alexander Zverev 3-1 on Tuesday.
Zverev of Germany -- the sixth-seeded -- won the first set 7-6 but the Serbian superstar came back from 1-0 deficit to win the match 3-1 with the sets of 6-2, 6-4, and 7-6.
The quarterfinal clash at Rod Laver Arena between Djokovic and Zverev lasted for three and half hours.
Eight-time Australian Open champion Djokovic, 33, will play against Russia's Aslan Karatsev in the men's singles semifinals.
Ranked 114th in the globe, Karatsev, 27, respectively eliminated Argentina's Diego Schwartzman (8), Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime (20), and Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov (18) to reach the semifinals.
