ANKARA (AA) - Sergio Ramos will leave Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at the end of the season, the French Ligue 1 champions announced Friday.

PSG thanked the Spanish veteran defender with “farewell” footage on Twitter.

"Tomorrow will be a special day, tomorrow I will say goodbye to another stage of my life, goodbye to PSG," Ramos tweeted.

The 37-year-old's contract with PSG is until June 30, 2023.

He won back-to-back Ligue 1 titles with the Parisians in 2022 and 2023.

Ramos is regarded as one of the best defenders and was a longtime Real Madrid player from 2005-2021 before signing with the French club.

He won five Spanish La Liga and four UEFA Champions League titles with Real Madrid.

The former Real Madrid captain also helped the Spanish club win three UEFA Super Cups.

Separately, he won the 2010 FIFA World Cup with Spain and helped his national team win back-to-back EURO titles in 2008 and 2012.

Ramos piled up 180 international appearances for Spain and scored 23 goals.
