ANKARA (AA) - Serie A giants Milan confirmed the signing of Mario Mandzukic on free transfer Tuesday.
The Croatian forward inked a contract with Milan until the end of the season with an option for further one season, the club said in a statement.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup silver medalist Mandzukic had been seeking a new club since he left Qatari club Al-Duhail last summer.
He played for several top European clubs including German teams Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich, Spanish club Atletico Madrid, and Italian powerhouse Juventus.
Mandzukic netted 197 goals in 497 appearances during his club career and lifted the 2013 Champions League title with Bayern Munich.
The 34-year-old player also scored 33 goals in 89 matches for his nation and helped Croatia reach the 2018 World Cup final.
