ANKARA (AA) - Sevilla reached the quarterfinals in the UEFA Europa League as Fenerbahce failed to score twice in the Round of 16 second leg Thursday.
Ecuadorian attacker Enner Valencia's penalty goal in the 41st minute was not enough for the Yellow Canaries to level the aggregate at Ulker Stadium, as Sevilla won the first leg game 2-0.
A possible penalty for Sevilla in the 86th minute was also denied by the video assistant referee (VAR).
Fenerbahce missed the chance to reach the UEFA Europa League semifinals for the second time in their history.
Sevilla, the most successful club of the tournament with six titles, continued their path to a possible seventh trophy.
