ISTANBUL (AA) - Ukrainian football club Shakhtar Donetsk filed a complaint Tuesday with FIFA against Galatasaray and Brazilian winger Mateus Cardoso Lemos Martins, commonly known as Tete.
Galatasaray said on the Turkish Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) that Shakhtar Donetsk have lodged a complaint against Galatasaray and Tete, claiming that the 23-year-old had terminated his contract in an unfair manner to join the Istanbul team in August.
The Turkish club is monitoring the proceedings before FIFA.
This summer, Galatasaray signed Tete on free transfer, and the Brazilian national scored one goal in seven matches for the Istanbul club.
He previously played for Olympique Lyon and Leicester City.
Tete helped Shakhtar win the Ukrainian Cup in 2019 as well as the league in 2019 and 2020.
