ISTANBUL (AA) – All 22 crew members were rescued after a ship caught fire in East Johor Strait, officials in Singapore said on Monday.
The Singapore Civil Defense Force said it received an alert at around 10.30 a.m. (0230GMT) about a fire on a vessel anchored in the East Johor Strait.
In response, the authorities sent three marine firefighting and rescue vessels and about 30 marine firefighting specialists as part of rescue efforts.
“All crew members of the affected vessel are accounted for. There are no reported injuries … Firefighting operation is ongoing,” said the force.
