ISTANBUL (AA) - The Nasdaq and the S&P 500 closed Monday at fresh record high levels.
The S&P 500 rose 5.66 points, or 0.1%, to a new all-time high of 5,572.
The Nasdaq, meanwhile, gained almost 51 points, or 0.28%, to hit a new record-high of 18,403.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average, on the other hand, fell 31 points, or 0.08%, to end the session at 39,344.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, fell 0.88% to 12.37. The 10-year US Treasury yield rose 0.16% to 4.275%.
The dollar index added 0.14% to 105.02, while the euro shed 0.1% to $1.0825 against the greenback.
Precious metals moved in negative territory, with gold losing 1.4% to $2,358 per ounce and silver trimming 1.4% to $30.77.
Oil prices were down around 1%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $85.69 and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $82.28.
