ISTANBUL (AA) - The S&P 500 closed higher Thursday, registering its best daily performance since November 2022.
The index increased nearly 120 points, or 2.3%, to finish the session at 5,319.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 683 points, or 1.76% to close at 39,446.
The Nasdaq, meanwhile, soared 464 points, or 2.87%, to end the day at 16,660.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, dove 14.6% to 23.79. The 10-year US Treasury yield added 0.48% to 3.985%.
The dollar index increased 0.02% to 103.22, while the euro fell 0.03% to $1.0917 against the greenback.
Precious metals also posted major gains, with gold adding 1.75% to $2,424 per ounce and silver increasing 3.35% to $27.49.
Oil prices were up around 1%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $79.03 a barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $76.07.
