ISTANBUL (AA) - The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq ended their five-day winning streak as US stock exchanges closed with losses Tuesday.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq fell 84 points, or 0.59%, to finish the session at almost 14,200.
The S&P 500 lost nine points, or 0.2%, to end the day at 4,538 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 62 points, or 0.18%, to close at 35,088.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, fell 0.45% to 13.35.
The 10-year US Treasury yield lost 0.52% to 4.400%.
The dollar index was rose 0.14% to 103.58, while the euro shed 0.23% to $1.0913 against the greenback.
Precious metals were on the rise, with gold adding 1% to $1,998 an ounce and silver increasing 1.4% to $23.75.
Oil prices rose around 0.2%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $82.44 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude at $77.82.
