Real Madrid secure 1-0 shutout thanks to Antonio Rudiger's late header

German defender Antonio Rudiger scored on a late header as Spanish LaLiga leaders Real Madrid won a hard-fought 1-0 victory at home Wednesday against Mallorca.

Rudiger, who has played for Real Madrid since 2022, scored with the header in the 78th minute from Luka Modric's corner.

Real Madrid, who extended their unbeaten league run to 13 games, have 48 points.

Mallorca have 18 points and are in the lower ranks.

Second-place Girona, who are LaLiga's surprise package, beat Atletico Madrid 4-3 to level on points with Real Madrid.

Alvaro Morata scored a hat-trick for Atletico Madrid but they returned home with a defeat.

Third-place Atletico Madrid have 38 points in the league table.
