ISTANBUL (AA) - STOXX Europe lost 2.9% in the third quarter, while European exchanges closed Friday with gains after sinking mid-week to their lowest in six months.
The index, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European markets in 17 countries, was up 1.72 points, or 0.38%, to finish the last trading day of the month and the third quarter at 450.22.
I, dove, however, 2.1% this month and lost 2.9% in the July-September period.
The UK’s FTSE 100 rose 6.23 points, or 0.08%, to close the week at 7,608. France’s CAC 40 was up 18 points, or 0.26%, to 7,135.
Italy’s FTSE MIB increased 80 points, or 0.28%, to 28,243 at the final bell, while Spain’s IBEX 35 added just 1.2 points, or 0.01%, to 9,428.
Germany’s DAX 30 was the best performer of the day, rising 63 points, or 0.41%, to 15,386.
