EINDHOVEN, The Netherlands (AA) - A street iftar, the fast-breaking meal, was held Friday in The Netherlands in support of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The iftar was organized at the 18 September Square in Eindhoven, with the attendance of many from various religious backgrounds as well as Muslims.
Bread and soup were served in solidarity with the Palestinians during the iftar where speeches took place about Israel's genocide in Gaza.
Mehmet Nurullah Canatan, an imam, said they came together for a street iftar meal to not forget the situation of Palestinians and not to let others forget.
“Our dream for Palestine is to return all rights, homes and lands to the Palestinians that were unjustly taken away from them,” he said.
Jeroen van Aalst, a native who attended the iftar, told Anadolu that what is happening in Gaza and Palestine is "horrific."
“The international community must ensure that there is no more suffering there and those who commit war crimes must be held accountable,” he added.
Muslim participants performed the maghrib, or evening prayer, on the street.
