Kiyotaka Suetake dies in Tokyo at age of 28

ANKARA (AA) - Japanese sumo wrestler Kiyotaka Suetake, commonly known as Shobushi, died after contracting the coronavirus on Wednesday.

According to a statement by Japan Sumo Association, the 28-year-old athlete, who was being treated at a hospital in Tokyo, suffered multiple organ failure.

Shobushi was diagnosed with COVID-19 in April.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games have been postponed until next year due to the pandemic.

The Olympic Games will be held on July 23-Aug. 8, 2021 and the Paralympic Games will take place on Aug. 24-Sept. 5, 2021.
