ANKARA (AA) - Swedish Olympic champion Armand Duplantis improved his own world record in the men's pole vault on Sunday.
Duplantis, 22, cleared 6.20 meters (20.34 feet) in his final attempt at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade.
World Athletics also confirmed his new record on its website.
Duplantis was awarded a gold medal at the event.
Brazilian vaulter Thiago Braz took the silver medal for leaping 5.95 meters (19.5 feet).
US athlete Chris Nilsen won the bronze with 5.90 meters (19.3 feet).
Duplantis previously lept 6.19 meters (20.3 feet) at the 2022 World Indoor Tour Silver meeting last week in the Serbian capital Belgrade.
