ISTANBUL (AA) - Swiss tennis star Roger Federer confirmed Tuesday that he has pulled out of the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics.
"During the grasscourt season, I unfortunately experienced a setback with my knee, and have accepted that I must withdraw from the Tokyo Olympic Games. I am greatly disappointed, as it has been an honour and highlight of my career each time I have represented Switzerland," Federer wrote on Twitter.
The 20-time Grand Slam winner said has already begun rehabilitation in hopes of returning to the tour later this summer and he wished the Swiss team the best of luck.
