AZAZ, Syria (AA) – Security forces on Monday thwarted the attempts by PKK/YPG terrorists in the Tel Rifaat district of Aleppo to infiltrate the front lines of the Syrian National Army (SNA) in northern Syria.
The terrorists attempting to infiltrate the front lines from the occupied village of Meranaz, south of the Azaz district near the Türkiye border clashed with vigilant members of the SNA, according to local security sources.
The PKK/YPG terrorists, whose infiltration attempts were thwarted, fled after suffering losses.
The terrorists also launched attacks with ground-to-ground weapons on the areas they were trying to infiltrate.
The PKK/YPG terrorist organization has been attempting to infiltrate the front lines of the Syrian National Army from the occupied Tel Rifaat and Manbij for over seven years.
In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Türkiye, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US and the European Union – has been responsible for the deaths of more than 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
