ANKARA (AA) - Tammy Abraham on Tuesday joined AS Roma from Chelsea for a fee of €40 million ($47 million).
The 23-year-old signed a five-year contract with the club, according to AS Roma’s official website.
The transfer deal also includes performance-related clauses regarding both the player and club.
Chelsea will also get a percentage of any future transfer fee involving the player.
The English striker will wear the No. 9 shirt.
Abraham said it was a massive honor to wear no. 9 in Roma and added: “I just can’t wait to get started and to help the team.”
Abraham became a professional at the Chelsea youth academy before loan moves to Aston Villa, Bristol City, and Swansea City.
The English attacker has made 30 goals and 12 assists in 82 games for Chelsea.
He has one UEFA Champions League title and one UEFA Super Cup title in 2021 with the club.
Abraham also had one goal in 6 caps for the English National Football Team.
AS Roma finished the 2020-2021 season of Serie A in seventh place with 62 points.
