ANKARA (AA) - Award-winning productions of Turkish cinema will meet with the audience at the 8th Tashkent International Film Festival, according to the statement made by Turkey's Culture and Tourism Ministry on Tuesday.
The festival's opening ceremony will be held in the cities of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva in the Transoxiana region of lower Central Asia between Sept. 28 and Oct. 3 will be held at the Ali Shir Nevai Cinema in Uzbekistan's capital of Tashkent.
Eleven selected films will be screened in the Turkey special section of the festival, the statement read.
The ministry will also hold cooperation meetings for the development of joint film industry projects with Uzbekistan in the special section prepared by the Turkish Embassy in Tashkent and the Ankara-based non-governmental organization Yerli Dusunce Dernegi.
Besides Turkic-speaking countries, India and Russia will also attend the festival.
