ISTANBUL (AA) – Voting is taking place in Thailand's Parliament early Friday to elect the Southeast Asian nation’s next prime minister.
The Pheu Thai Party's Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the daughter of former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, is likely to be elected the 31st prime minister of Thailand.
The move to elect a new prime minister comes after the Thai Constitutional Court removed Srettha Thavisin from office on Wednesday over an ethics violation.
