DOHA (AA) – Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, wife of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and a member of parliament, expressed on Monday admiration for The Evidence, a photobook published by Anadolu that exposes Israeli war crimes in Gaza.

"I was deeply moved and saddened," she said as she reviewed the book at an event regarding the 5th International Day to Protect Education from Attack in Doha, Qatar.

Ismail highlighted the importance of the book's content. "The fact that these images are considered fundamental evidence in international courts shows that it is a successful work," she said. The book was presented to the International Court of Justice in January, where Israel is accused of genocide for its actions in Gaza since last October.

She also reflected on the challenges faced by journalists during the conflict, saying: "It is truly difficult to understand how the photographers, while doing their jobs, could humanely endure the pain depicted in these frames."

Ismail extended her gratitude to Anadolu for presenting her the book, and for the Turkish news agency's continued efforts in covering the war.

The book, available in Turkish, English, and Arabic, provides crucial visual documentation of war crimes in Gaza, including the illegal use of white phosphorus shells in civilian areas, as prohibited by the UN Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons.
