MOSCOW (AA) – Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida “betrayed the memory of victims of nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki” when he made a joint statement with US President Joe Biden about the unacceptability of use of nuclear weapons, said a top Russian security official on Saturday.
After a meeting in Washington, Kishida and Biden said any use of nuclear weapons by Russia in Ukraine will be seen by both countries as an act against the entire humankind with no justification.
“Kishida absolutely does not care that the only country that used nuclear weapons was the US. And its only victim is his own homeland,” Dmitry Medvedev, deputy head of Russia’s Security Council, wrote on Telegram.
Medvedev called accusations about Russia on intentions to use nukes “a paranoia,” saying that he hopes that Kishida had reminded Biden of the US attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and demanded him to repent.
