ANKARA (AA) - The Turkish foreign minister and his Italian counterpart on Thursday discussed the latest developments related to the novel coronavirus, which has inflicted a heavy blow on Italy recently.
According to the diplomatic sources, Turkey's top diplomat Mevlut Cavusoglu offered his condolences to Luigi Di Maio as the death toll in Italy has mounted to 827 and there are over 12,000 registered cases.
The two discussed how they could assist each other in their fight against the deadly coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.
Turkey has so far announced just a single confirmed coronavirus case in the country.
The worldwide death toll from the virus is over 4,600, with more than 124,500 confirmed cases, according to the World Health Organization, which on Wednesday declared the outbreak a global pandemic.
